From today’s reading...
Jesus replied, ‘The children of this world take wives and husbands, but those who are judged worthy of a place in the other world and in the resurrection from the dead do not marry because they can no longer die, for they are the same as the angels, and being children of the resurrection they are children of God.’” Luke 20:34-36
Time and again, the leaders of the time test Jesus to trick Him.
Time and again, they fail. Today, they tested Him on the topics of marriage and the afterlife, and being the Master tactician and strategist, Jesus turned their argument around and blew it up in their faces as we see them conceding the point in verses 39 and 40.
The purpose of this life is not to live with your spouse or your favorite uncle or best friend or your first pet.
It’s to be found worthy of living in the presence of God for all eternity.

Keep the faith.
Endure.
