You Are Poor, Blind, and Naked

Written by Wes Schaeffer | November 15, 2022

From today’s reading...

‘You say to yourself: I am rich, I have made a fortune and have everything I want, never realising that you are wretchedly and pitiably poor, and blind and naked too.’” Revelation 3:17

How many soccer games, dinners, and bedtime stories must you miss before you realize you’re doing life all wrong?

But because you’re asking the wrong questions and seeking the wrong goals, the Truth will forever elude you.

You’re looking for your lost keys under the streetlight because that’s where the light is good, despite dropping them in the park two blocks away.

Every day I see seekers discuss their talk therapy, EMDR, sound bowls, Presence Process, crystals, Shamans, Plant Medicine journey, vegan diets, micro-dosing, breath work, ice baths, energy healing, yoga, rolfing (i.e., a massage), somatic healing, meditation, personal development books, healing seminars, online courses on healing, and self-inquiry practice.

Sprinkled in, there might be something they call prayer, but I’m not sure how “spiritual but not religious” people pray, but I’m sure they’re connecting with their “divine feminine” or “alpha male” or “inner lion” or the universe or their higher vibrational frequency or their ultimate kingship/queenship.

The result?

A high credit card bill, a fleeting moment of hope followed by more despair,  frustration, searching, and isolation.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

God’s house is always open.

His Word is always available.

His love is never-ending.

Accept your emptiness to allow Him to fill you, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
