From today’s reading...
The king then issued a proclamation to his whole kingdom that all were to become a single people, each nation renouncing its particular customs. All the gentiles conformed to the king’s decree, and many Israelites chose to accept his religion, sacrificing to idols and profaning the Sabbath.” 1 Maccabees 1:41-43
Kings, tyrants, dictators, presidents ruling by executive orders, House and Senate leaders changing the rules to get cheap, quick wins when they’re in the majority…they’re all the same.
They have no souls.
Their pride, greed, vanity, and thirst for power control their every action.
They don’t care about tomorrow, and they only care about you long enough to get a campaign contribution and a vote—or three, or a hundred—from you, before you’re discarded like this morning’s coffee cup.
While standing up to them may create a moment of discomfort in this life, it will secure your salvation in the next.
So do not conform to those who do the bidding of Satan.
Do not accept the secular religion of government worship.
Do not worship nor sacrifice your children to these fiends.
Keep holy the Sabbath.
This is the only way to...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
Now go sell something.
