If you want to have a meaningless life and die alone, filled with regret, spend all of your time, money, and energy seeking comfort and pleasure.
To live fully, both here and for all eternity, seek to serve and embrace the suck that may come your way as a result, because stray dogs will bite the hand that feeds them, and lost, lonely souls will do even worse to you.
