We have reticular activation systems that make us see what we want to see.
We’re afraid of change but bored with the same-old, same-old.
We’re critical and judgmental of others but expect second chances when we screw up.
Yet we’re called to hear his voice and soften our hearts.
But Wes, it says ‘if.’ So we’re not called to hear God’s voice. We’re only called to soften our hearts IF we hear his voice.”
