Know The One To Fear

Written by Wes Schaeffer | October 15, 2021

From today’s reading...

‘To you my friends I say: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. I will tell you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has the power to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, he is the one to fear.’” Luke 12:4-5

The world tells you to eschew pain, discomfort, and struggle.

The world wants to sell you the easy button, the life hack, the shortcut, the secret.

The world wants you to believe actions do not have consequences:

  • Have an “unplanned” pregnancy? Get an abortion.
  • Drank too much last night? Call in sick today.
  • Gained weight because you have no self-control? Take this magical pill.
  • Wracked up college debt on a worthless degree? Blame white men and the government.
  • Don’t like how you look? Get implants, botox, lip injections, hair extensions, etc.

STOP IT!

Just stop.

Be still.

For once, listen to your little voice.

The envy you feel for the pretty people—those who seem to have it easy, seem to have it all, seem to have it all together—but you know, in your heart of hearts, that while you might envy what they appear to have, you don’t respect them because you know they took shortcuts and/or they made compromises that make you uncomfortable and/or they are not good stewards of what they have earned and acquired.

So stop focusing on these people who seek the limelight, power, and influence.

Focus on yourself.

Focus on your state of mind.

Focus on your physical and mental health.

And really focus on your soul, because keeping that clean and on solid ground with the Man upstairs is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
