Lift Up Your Eyes and Look Around

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | January 8, 2023

From today’s reading...

Lift up your eyes and look around: all are assembling and coming towards you, your sons coming from far away and your daughters being carried on the hip.” Isaiah 60:4

Today we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord.

From Wikipedia: “Epiphany (/əˈpɪfəni/ ə-PIF-ə-nee), also known as Theophany in Eastern Christian traditions, is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation (theophany) of God incarnate as Jesus Christ. In Western Christianity, the feast commemorates principally (but not solely) the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child, and thus Jesus Christ's physical manifestation to the Gentiles.”

In today’s Gospel reading from Matthew 2, we read of the Magi who, because they lifted up their eyes, looked around, saw the star, and followed it, were among the first people in the world to find and worship Jesus.

Amazing what can happen in our lives when we keep our chin up, ain’t it?

Stay curious.

Be hope-filled.

Look around.

Find the light and focus on it, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
