Judge Deadly Sin?

Written by Wes Schaeffer | January 7, 2023

From today’s reading...

If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that is not a deadly sin, he has only to pray, and God will give life to this brother -- provided that it is not a deadly sin. There is sin that leads to death and I am not saying you must pray about that.” 1 John 5:16

The intellectually lazy, the spiritually weak, the cafeteria Christians only seem to know, “JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED! JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED!” when it comes to anything and everything the least bit controversial, be it abortion, porn, drugs, LGBTQQIP2SAAABGBS2Cis3CCOFFTM/MTFGEGIGH2IOTMTW+8th-Gender-Alien+WTF+FJB, or why you only put butter, salt, and pepper on grits. (If you put milk on your grits, I am judging you!)

Now, maybe “judge” is not the best word for how we are to conduct ourselves, but in today’s reading, we are to analyze, consider, critique, discern, examine, investigate, consider, and study the actions of our brothers and sisters, and act—and pray—accordingly.

(Sounds like passing judgment to me, but you’re probably judging me for judging them. Interesting how that works, ain’t it? But I digress.)

If you want to be judged and found worthy of the kingdom of God,...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
