Hate Your Brother?

There’s plenty of hate to go around these days.

We know because “if it bleeds, it leads.”

The news channels, talk radio, newspapers, and social media are intentionally set up to show you the worst of society because it captures and holds our attention.

There’s an old saying that if you don’t read the news, you’re uninformed, but if you do read the news, you’re misinformed.

Take a few minutes today and tomorrow and make eye contact with a stranger and smile. Strike up a conversation with someone you’ve never met. Take a few moments to get to know them. To see behind the facade, we all wear.

I bet if you do, you’ll soon meet someone you’d “hate” if you saw them online, but by meeting them in person and getting to know them more fully, you’ll realize they are deeper than just that one issue that you’ve allowed to be your hot button, which will allow you to not only not hate them but to actually see that they are made in God’s image, which will allow you to love them, which is the only way to...
