Jesus Enraged The Obstinate

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | January 30, 2022

From today’s reading...

When they heard this everyone in the synagogue was enraged.”
Luke 4:28

Jesus called out everyone on their sinful, hypocritical ways.

Rather than swallow their pride and learn their lesson, those who heard Jesus in today’s reading did what prideful, small-minded people do.

They got mad and tried to silence Him by throwing Him off a cliff, but it was not His time.

It would take 19 more chapters to see how a few obstinate manipulators in power can whip a crowd of sheep into such a frenzy that they’d demand the release of a murderer and the execution of an innocent man.

Today, we see statues of felons being erected while statues of Presidents are removed, so don’t think we’re any better than the Jews of Israel 2,000 years ago. We are accelerating down the same path, but I digress.

The lesson of today, and every day, is to check yourself before you wreck yourself, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
