The Blood of Christ

Written by Wes Schaeffer | January 22, 2023

From today’s reading...

How much more will the blood of Christ, who offered himself, blameless as he was, to God through the eternal Spirit, purify our conscience from dead actions so that we can worship the living God.” Hebrews 9:14

In a “civilized, advanced” society such as ours (a large swath of whom doesn’t know where groceries come from and want you eating bugs and tofu to “save the planet” and “be healthy”), who lives for instant gratification, and screams the only verse they know from the Bible “judge not lest ye be judged” at everyone they judge as being not of their ilk, making any sacrifice to “the universe” or “a higher power” is foreign to them.

Making a bloody sacrifice to God, the Creator of the universe, is literally incomprehensible.

They have no knowledge of the Old Testament.

They’ve never heard of the Holy of Holies.

Veils and second veils in a temple are as foreign to them torque wrenches and overalls.

Which is why we must be patient with our lost, dazed, and confused brethren.

We must exemplify the love Jesus had for all of us as we engage with them so we can help them get to know Him, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
