In my humble opinion, Melchizedek is the GOAT, i.e., Greatest of All Time, in the Old Testament. He was both a king and a priest and Abraham paid him a tithe of “a tenth of everything” (v2), which shows his position of power and authority.
Paul knew his scriptures.
He knew the power of Melchizedek and how he foreshadowed the coming of Jesus, and how Jesus fulfilled that prophecy. He knew it so well and strongly that he gave his life to convey that message as powerfully and as clearly as possible.
Be like Paul.
